Malai at Designblock Prague
October 2018 was a busy busy time for us at Malai. Lot of collaborations with exciting brands happened and we were so happy we found designers and brands open-minded enough and willing to experiment with new materials.
From 25th till 29th of October we exhibited at the prestigious Prague Designblok Festival that celebrated its 20th anniversary. We were in great company of original brands from all over the world and had a great feedback from the audience. Thank you for the warm welcome Prague 🙂
As core of our exhibition we showed outcomes from collaborations with several Slovak and Czech brands, manufacturers and designers who tried working with Malai. On display you could see shoe prototypes from Eva Klabalova, Crafting Plastics! x Sophia Guggenberger and Ahinsa barefoot shoes; briefcases from Kazeto s.r.o., accessories from Leeda Prague and Playbag, mirror by studio Dechem or barstools from TON upholstered with Malai.
Our work earned a nomination for the best design innovation and the installation made from coconut shells was one of the most photogenic features of the Festival.
